The 100th Day of School is the perfect time to celebrate all the learning that has happened this year! While I love a fun theme day, I also appreciate a low prep day of fun. Whether you are looking for printable worksheet activities or a simple craft to complete with your class, you’re sure to find some great ideas below. Check out these fun 100th Day activities for elementary classrooms!
100th Day of School Crown FREE!
There is nothing quite like a paper crown to make a child feel important. Remember the paper crowns from Burger King?! I remember feeling like the queen of the world when I got one. Maybe that is why I have a crown for every holiday…
I think a crown should be individualized, meaning students should color it however they see fit for the occasion. You can certainly have them create a beautiful crown with scraps of paper and any craft supplies you have hanging around, or you can grab a free one here!
100’s Day Writing Prompt
My students love writing about what they would do if they had $100. I love reading how far tiny people think one hundred dollars will go. My favorite responses include, “I would buy an airplane.” and ” I would open a McDonald’s.” Though, I must admit that I love the entrepreneurial spirit of that one. He will go far, for sure! Another idea is to ask your students what they will do when they are 100 years old and draw a picture of themself at 100 years old.
Place Value Activities for 100th Day of School
If you have been working on place value and using a hundred chart in your classroom, you’re going to love this one! Grab two bags of Hershey Kisses and number them 1-100. Hide them around your room for students to find. Once they find them, they will place them in the correct place on a hundreds chart. Increase the rigor of this activity by covering up some or all of the numbers! Your student will love this activity!
100th Day Counting Collections
This classic activity can be used to celebrate the 100th day of school. I suggest using a counting mat for kindergarten and first-grade students since they often benefit from help organizing their counting. I love to make this activity even more special by making 100th-day necklaces. Grab some beads and let them count out 100 beads. Once they have counted them, they can string them on some string or yarn to make their own necklace!
Trail Mix for 100th Day
Another delicious way for students to practice counting is to create a trail mix! I ask families to send in small snack items like Goldfish, small cereal, chocolate chips, etc. Students will count out ten of each snack to make their own trail mix. Again, I recommend giving students a counting mat to help them organize their selections into groups of ten. For your convenience, I’ve included one in my 100th Day of School Activities pack!
100th Day Projects
Many different art projects can be used to celebrate the 100th day of school. You can have students paint a mural, create a mural with paper and glue, or create a collage of one hundred things. An easy, low-prep project is this adorable gumball machine. Students can use BINGO dabbers to add 100 gumballs. This craft can be found in my 100th Day of School activity pack, along with the Before I Am 100 bucket list.
